I would like to change things up and run the trails at Percy and Edwin Warner Park. Does anybody know these trails and would be willing to run them with me on a Saturday morning? I am a pretty slow runner: 29-30 min: 5km.

I know them, but my Saturday mornings are booked for now.  I watch my son while my wife trains for a foolish marathon.

Here are some good trail maps to check out: http://harpethhillsmarathon.com/WarnerParkMaps/

Don't underestimate the difficulty of the Warner Parks trails.  Start with the white or blue trail.  Once you're "comfortable" running one of those, then try the other.  Try the red trail last.  It's twice as long as the white or blue, so it's a good next step.  After you get "comfortable" with red, then combine red+white.  Eventually, work your way up to red+white+blue for an excellent but tough 11.5 mile run.

The trail paths are fairly obvious once you get on them.  There are red, white, or blue markings painted on the trees (and sometimes posts) to help you navigate your way.

And stay off the yellow trail.  That's officially for horses only.

If you get there to PWP early, the horse trails are great. Ran 2 loops this morning starting at 5:30am. Not one horse. We did see a whole bunch of runners though.

Thanks for the maps and for telling me that I can use the horse trails but on off-peak hours. Are these trails safe to run alone on a Saturday morning? In my home town the trails are generally safe at peak periods but less so outside of those hours.

They're safe at all hours, except for the roots, ruts, rocks, and flying monkeys.  You've gotta watch out for those because they're out there constantly.

Thanks!
Flying monkeys- almost as bad as vampire skunks! I sympathize with the problems of encountering the bewitched  rocks, the trees that grow roots right were you were going to put your foot or move into your way.

Hi.  I'm moving from Homer, AK the end of Dec and am looking for a group that loves to check out the trails. That's what our group does up here, and I know I'll miss it.  Would love to connect once I'm in town.  I'll be living near Percey Warner too.
