I've run on the Shelby Park greenway a few times now, and I'm wondering where the "0" marker would be; is it where the path starts right by the parking lot, is it at the kiosk surrounded by the circle of pavement just over the bridge from the parking lot, or is there any official / unofficial start?  I'm having trouble finding a consistent 1/4 mile starting point from the .25 marker.

Thanks!

I think the path officially starts near the road where the path goes under the railroad bridge--before you get to the turn off to the parking lot.

Thank you, starting there makes much more sense.

Yeah, I ran down there last Saturday and had the same question. It would be great if a zero marker were placed somewhere! The post that Chuck describes did seem to make that first quarter mile a shade long--3-5 seconds--but maybe that was wishful thinking!

I use that sign on the left side of the trail just as you enter the greenway.
